题目:There are more and more people tend to travel to other countries during their holidays.Do you think it is appositive trend or negative trend for the countries they travel to?

  范文

Nowadays, there are a growing number of people preferring to travel abroad for vacation, which boosts the tourism industry in nations they visit. However, this tendency produces several negative effects in some aspects.

On one hand, international travel does enhance the dissemination of local culture and customs as well as stimulate economic growth. Statistics show that every year thousands of foreign tourists pay a visit to Beijing, Shanghai and Yunnan which are world-famous cities in China. There are no better chances for them to have a deep understanding of grand architecture in Qing Dynasty when visiting the Forbidden City; to appreciate the rhythm and scenes of Shanghai opera when watching a fantastic show in Yu Garden; to experience the happiness and blessings of the Water-Sprinkling Festival when celebrating the moment with people of Dai nationality. Meanwhile, much attention can be paid by natives and authorities to the preservation of cultural heritage.

In addition, in order to meet the high demands for accommodation and catering, hotels and restaurants spring up around tourist attractions, which creates lots of job opportunities as well as promotes the prosperity of local economy. It is particularly true for countries such as Thailand whose state revenue mainly depends on income of tourism. What’s more, the appealing and exotic cultural customs brought by overseas visitors contribute to the cultural diversity.

On the other hand, overseas travel diminishes national identity, which can be proved in the situation where Chinese people decorate Christmas trees and exchange gifts at Christmas so as to cater to the needs of tourists from Western countries. Instead, less passion and enthusiasm were hold by citizens especially young people about Spring Festival. Besides, the environment of scenic spots might be destroyed. Reports reveal some travelers from developing countries tend to dump garbage in natural parks or smoking in non-smoking zones, in which case, local government has to allocate funds as well as labor to solve environmental issues.

In conclusion, as far as I am concerned that numerous tourists from abroad flock into resorts has brought more advantages and in order to benefit more from the overseas travel, it is vital for government to launch campaigns to strengthen traditional values of citizens and regulate the penalty for wrongdoings.

2月11日雅思真题大作文1

Around us there are many people who are ambitious and always work hard to achieve what they want, but there are also many who seem to have nothing to squeeze out of life. My observation is that people with ambition are more likely to succeed in life than those without.

To be sure, ambition is like the force driving people to move on toward their goals. With certain ambition in mind, people will set about making plans, taking actions and then will persist when they encounter difficulties. My friend John is a perfect example. Ten years ago, when I first got to know him, he told me he dreamed of becoming the best photographer in this country. Then he began to travel to all places in China, no matter how dangerous and remote they are and just last month he published his first photography book which contains a lot of fantastic pictures he took. On the other hand, if one does not have ambition, s/he may sim* loaf around without knowing what lies ahead. Indeed, this kind of life is perhaps not that bad, for it is carefree and less worrying, but it contributes little to one’s success in life, if success is defined as earning more money, staying at the top of the social ladder or making more contribution to the world.

Seen in this light, ambition is undoubtedly something positive and healthy. But like anything else, ambition may become negative and harmful if it is not treated properly. I know many ambitious people who end up in prison because they tried to realize their ambition through illegal means, and I also know a few people who made suicidal attempts after they failed to achieve their ambition. So honestly, ambition is like both an angel and a devil. Whether ambition becomes an angel or a devil depends on how people take it.

2月11日雅思真题大作文2

In the current era, many individuals show their ambition to success, such as gaining power or earning a lot of money. In my opinion, ambition can contribute to success to some degree, but it often turns to be a negative characteristic.

  第二段就写ambition对成功多重要

Ambition can assist individuals to fulfill their targets as one of the most significant motivation factors. Everyone used to have or has their life targets, but only a few of them are potent to really achieve their dreams. It is because there exist a lot of obstacles that hinder people from concentrating on their careers, such as lacking money or lacking time. Strong ambition for career progression could serve to spiritually support people to overcome difficulties they encounter. Nevertheless, admitting the significance of ambition is not assuming that it is positive to individuals in all conditions.

  第三段开始吐槽加班狂的人生的缺陷。。。

To begin with, being ambitious in success may lead to imbalance between work and personal life. It is true that ambition can motivate individuals to work nonstop, but work is not the only content of life. When workaholics spend all of their time on work, other aspects, such as exercise or family members, will be inevitably neglected. Even if they achieve their dreams, they may get some diseases like obesity or hypertension or feel lonely since they have no time for family activities. Thus, ambition may make people occupied by work all the time.

  第四段就写容易好高骛远的毛病~

In addition, people who are ambitious to be successful often do not care details. A lot of people, especially youngsters, intend to become leaders of organisations or enterprises. However, such positions require candidates to not only have strong ambition but also have abundant working experience. Many leaders of famous enterprises used to be salesmen who had to promote their products but not every ambitious person is willing to carry out some basic tasks at the beginning. Thus, ambitious people may lose interests in performing some seemingly trivial tasks, which in turn deprives them of the opportunity of success.

  最后一段总结一下之前的理由就好~

To sum up, it is true that people cannot lack ambition as a motivation factor if they intend to be successful, but more often than not, ambition impacts negatively since ambitious people may ignore other aspects of life and dislike doing basic tasks.

Some people think they have the right to use as much fresh water as they want, while others believe governments should tightly control the use of fresh water as it is a limited resource. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

12月10日雅思写作考试真题2

Fresh water is a necessity in human’s daily life but how to use it varies in different societies. Some people take unlimited water consumption for granted, but others think that it is governments’ obligation to control fresh water as it is limited.

It is true that most residents in developed countries and coastal nations do not need to worry about the shortage of fresh water. Sophisticated infrastructures and sufficient precipitation can guarantee sufficient water sup*. The price that these occupants need to pay is water bills and they can use as much water as they want if only they can afford it. Thus, it is undoubted that some of them hold the opinion that they can utilize the resource freely if they want.

While many other people do not need to concern about water consumption, it is also a fact that a large number of inhabitants in many developing countries have no access to clean water because of its scarcity. In those countries, natural environment and climate like droughts have a negative effect on water sup*. What is worse, the poor situation makes water even more precious. If people use as much water as they want in those areas, it can almost be sure that water sup* will fail to meet some people’s daily need. Therefore, it is reasonable that local officials limit the individual water use and people who waste it will be punished.

In my opinion, fresh water should not be used without any restriction. Water sup* depends on heavily on natural environment that it can be regarded as limited resource in some countries. Water conservation, whether it is advocated by government or not, is what people should insist on.

  主旨句:

In my opinion, fresh water should not be used without any restriction.

12月10日雅思写作考试真题3

When it comes to the issue about the use of fresh water, some people argue that they are entitled to consume fresh water without limitation, but others believe that the use of fresh water should be controlled by governments strictly.

On one hand, individuals have the right to use fresh water as long as they pay for it. Fresh water is also a kind of commodity. When a person paid money for fresh water, theoretically, this person possesses the property right of fresh water paid and such a property right is guaranteed by laws in most countries. Therefore, if citizens are able to afford the price of fresh water, their right of using water should be protected.

On the other hand, since fresh water is an infinite resource, excessive use of fresh water needs to be prohibited by the authorities. It is acknowledged that fresh water accounts for less than 1% of total water resources on the earth and many regions lack fresh water currently. If governments do not punish people who waste such a precious resource, in the future, fresh water may be exhausted and human beings may not find the alternative so quickly. Thus, in order to maintain the environmental sustai*lity, city councils need to regulate citizens’ behavior.

From my own perspective, it is unrealistic and immoral for individuals to use water excessively, but residents may also suffer if governments strictly limit the use of fresh water. A compromise may be that governments do not utilize political power, but economic measures to raise the public’s environmental awareness. To be more specific, if individuals or enterprises consume too much water, the price of fresh water will be much higher for them, which aims to remind them of the necessity of recycling water. For ordinary citizens, if they just use water within a normal range, there is no need to impose extra fines on them.

  主旨句:

From my own perspective, it is unrealistic and immoral for individuals to use water excessively, but residents may also suffer if governments strictly limit the use of fresh water.

6月17日雅思生态类写作1

Many parts of the world are losing important natural resources, such as forests, animals, or clean water.

Choose one resource that is disappearing and explain why it needs to be saved.

  Model Answer:

As human"s population is dramatically rising every year, people"s requirements are increasing too. We need more food, more fresh water, more places to live. As a result of this many parts of the world are losing essential and sometimes irreplaceable resources, such as forest, animals, or fresh water. In this essay I will focus on the threat of disappearing many wild animals.

The reason why I think that animals should be preserved is that all living creatures on this planet are connected with each other. So, the disappearance of only one species can cause dramatic changes in the planet and even death of many other living creatures. For example, the disappearance of bats will cause the huge increasing of insect population and this will reflect on all animals and plants. Another example is that if the population of bats increases, the population of insects will decrease significantly, and this will cause the disappearance of many plants because insects are the main pollinators. So, I think it is very important to preserve all species on our planet and live in harmony with our environment.

Another important reason why I think that animals should be saved is that I, personally, do not want my child to learn about different animals from books and not be able to see them alive. I think it is shameful for humankind to explain our children that we are the reason why those animals disappeared.

In conclusion, I would like to say that the issue about losing important natural resources is topical and open for debate nowadays. I believe that together people can make a difference. From my point of view, the first problem we should find a solution for is human"s overpopulation. As I mentioned above people"s demands are growing and this means we consume more and more natural resources. The second question, which is on the list of most important issues, is pollution including the air pollution, water pollution, etc.

Most government money should be invested inteaching science rather than any other subjects inorder for a country to develop and progress?大多数*的财政应该投资于理科教育这样,而不是其他科目,这样国家才能发展和进步,是否认同?

  【范文赏析】:

Knowledge is power, Francis bacon wrote long ago. Education has a key to play in one’sgrowth and a nation’s development.

Education is the driving force of productivity. Keeping this in mind, numerous countriesand governments are paying closer attention to the cultivation of talents. People differ greatlyin their views as to how to wisely allocate educational budget, some people assert thatinstead of supporting other subjects, national investment in science is desirable. As I see it,government should place equal stress on both science and arts.

Granted, plenty of evidence and arguments could be easily found to prove that it isadvisable for a nation to subsidize science. For a start, the competition among differentcountries, to some extent, amounts to the competition of gifted people. Science andtechnology is the stimulating factor of the development of productivity. Large amounts oftalents could inject new life into a nation’s prosperity. Besides, in comparison with artstudents, those who are better equipped with science knowledge such as computer, businessand accounting could create more commercial value.

Nevertheless, it is rather superficial to sim* say that national budget should be onlyrestricted to science investment. The mightiness of a nation involves many aspects and thecultivation of good citizens or talents is to realize one’s comprehensive development. Theconstruction of a country needs enterprisers, mathematicians and scientist, yet, on no accountcan we ignore the immense value of artists, writers, musicians. In addition to sciencesubjects, literature, history, philosophy, music, art and PE should also become the aim ofeducation. Literature strengthens one’s cultural deposit, history deepens one’s insight into life, philosophy fosters one’s *ytical thinking, music moulds one’s temperament, art cultivatesone’s artistic eye and PE enhances one’s health index. In these senses, art still deservesenough attachment and support. Art talents are indispensable to the betterment of acountry.

Overall, I re-affirm my conviction that education should not have too much utilitarian, conversely, it needs to render more concerns over one’s spiritual growth and character-training. Ideal educational policy should place equal significance on science investment andother subjects.
